Our Community Missions

Youth Street Reach Program

Organized and directed by Marilyn Lariviere, offers education about the experience of homelessness and opportunities for youth to come together to provide food and clothing and connection with our most vulnerable community members. Monthly Breakfast are held in our fellowship hall of First Baptist Church of Hyannis to prepare for the breakfast, on Friday nights at 6:00pm dozens of youth organize donations of clothing, toiletries, and paper goods, make to-go lunches and then have the opportunity to learn from members of the community who has experienced homelessness. Early Saturday morning around 6:00am the youth and volunteers come back to warm up casseroles, make egg sandwiches, and share donations. It is a transformative experience for all who volunteer, and a beautiful way to bring healing into a community that so often is marginalzed and misunderstood. Here Now Worship

Here in the heart of God ~ ~ Equal before God and Each other Rejoicing as One ~~Engaged in Spirit ~~NOW!

In 2016 Rev. Pam, in collaboration with First Baptist Church of Hyannis and South Congregational Church , organized an alternative worship experience that meets people where they are, and builds bridges between our sheltered and unsheltered communities here in Hyannis. On the 4th Sunday of each month, we hold a worship service and fellowship hour that honors how God speaks through each person and encourages all who attend to offer reflection and prayer. Musicians offer songs of hope and unity, and community members are encouraged to join in with instruments and voices. Using a variety of texts from the poetry of Mary Oliver to Rumi, in addition to passages from the Hebrew Bible and New Testament, we engage in dialogue about how these texts speak to us and help us make meaning in all of the times of our lives. Each month offers a communion service that symbolizes our connection to each other as God’s Beloved no matter who we are or where we are on life’s journey. For more information contact Pastor Pam.
